CHAPTER MEETING & GUEST SPEAKER
5:30 - 6:00 p.m. - Networking and Social Time
6:00 - 6:30 p.m. - Dinner
6:30 - 7:30 p.m. - “Mitigating the Effects of an Electromagnetic Pulse Attack on Medical Services" presented by Dennis Walters.
This presentation is designed to help you understand the potential impacts to the community and business infrastructure from an Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) Attack on the United States. Although the likelihood of such an attack is low, experts estimate the loss of life in the U.S. could exceed 100 million people. In this scenario, there would be a simultaneous and instantaneous loss of electrical power and most electronic devices that are not protected from EMP. This presentation informs and provides steps that prudent people can take to minimize the impact on medical service delivery after such a devastating attack.
