Kris Watkins - CEO Visit TRI-CITIES

About the Speaker - Kris Watkins is the President & CEO of Visit TRI-CITIES which is a non-profit destination marketing organization which represents the cities of Kennewick, Pasco, Richland and West Richland along with 775 dues paying business members. Since assuming management of the organization in 1994, Watkins has established the Tri-Cities Sports Council and the Tri-Cities Rivershore Enhancement Council; she was highly instrumental in successfully launching statewide Tourism Promotion Area (TPA) that have generated millions of dollars for communities across Washington State. Most recently she collaborated efforts to form the Mid-Columbia Wine Tourism Council to market and promote Benton & Franklin Counties as a wine tourism destination. In partnership with the Tri-City Regional Chamber of Commerce and TRIDEC, Watkins led efforts to establish a new Tri-Cities community brand which is currently in the process of being implemented.

Additionally, Kris is serving on the board of the Washington State Destination Marketing Organizations Association and is a board member for the Washington Tourism Alliance. She has received the Sam Volpentest Leadership Award for “making a positive difference” in the Tri-Cities region and she has been recognized by her colleagues as the Washington State Tourism Professional of the Year.
